Hi there!

My name is Kai, I'm an 18-year-old indie photographer and creative writer. I've been taking pictures since 2014 and writing since I can remember, with specific focus in nature photograpy and sci-fi/fantasy genres in writing.

The camera I use is a Canon Powershot sx150 IS, and occasionally my smartphone.

Happy December!

In November, submitted a short story for the Young Writer's Award called "Yellow Door on Maple Street". Fingers crossed that the results are good!

This month I've been focusing on my crochet projects, finishing presents for the holidays, and working towards graduation. The short, cloudy days and little variation in the weather hasn't provided much inspiration, so photography has taken the backburner for now.

As always, I'm working towards writing. I've recently been looking at participating in a couple contests, but there's nothing too exciting to share for now.

Photography

It's fall, beautiful fall! The ground is golden with leaves and the trees are bare. I love to take walks during these months and get some pictures.

It's so nice to watch the blood moon come up over the fields as the sun sets. Everything's painted in a delicate blue and silver while the firey orange moon rises over it.

Most of the flowers have died back so far, but I spotted these beautiful alpine daisies thriving by the river.

The squirrels are out as well and being fully weird.

I also spotted this female American Goldfinch hiding in the trees.

Foggy mornings are the best.

Writing

Recently, I just finished a short story called "Yellow Door on Maple Street" and submitted it into Bennington College's Young Writer's Award with the sponsorship of my English teacher. It won't be next year until I find out the results of it. I'll share it when said results come out.
